Los Angeles – Best of L.A.

*share me with your friends* ^_^

Not a new Wanderlust Destination, but an important one to me.  I picked up a copy of LA Weekly’s Best of L.A. 2015 to get some ideas on how to spend my last 30 or so days in Los Angeles. For obvious reasons, this post will be super brief so I can go bucket-list.  It’s a good list to tackle if you’re on vacation or new to the area 😀

Here are the links to some things I’d like to enjoy before I move! And yes, I may have already done some of these things.

(1) Best Wine and Beach Combo (2015)

Rosenthal Vineyards and Topanga State Beach

(2) Best Hidden Hike (2015)
Beacon Hill Trail

(3) Best Cliffs for Watching Sunsets (2015)
Point Fermin Park

(4) Best Hiking Trail (2015)
Fryman Canyon

(5) Best Night Hike (2015)
Echo Mountain

(6) Best Dinner Party

Tokyo Delve’s
(7) Readers’ Choice: Best Music Venue (2015)
Hollywood Bowl

(8) Best Stair Walk (from Gene Maddaus)

The Big Parade

“The Big Parade is a full weekend of urban hiking, covering 35 miles and 80 public stairways in two days…The point is to showcase the public stairs of downtown L.A, Echo Park and Silver Lake”

(9) Best Rooftop Bar

Upstairs Bar at the Ace Hotel

(10) Best 70’s-Themed Bar

Good Times at Davey Wayne’s

*More Hidden Bars* – Honorable Mentions

(13) Best ‘80’s-Themed Bar

Break Room 86

“From Pac-Man fever to new-wave guyliner, Madonna’s baubles to Dynasty’s shoulder pads, the ‘80s were all about excess and flamboyance..”

(14) Best Neighborhood Bar (from Dennis Romero)

Alibi Room

“It’s getting harder to find a good drink without pomp and circumstance. Its [Alibi Room] old-timey drinks are complemented by seasonal updates such as the Breaking Bad, which features tequila, mescal, pear, lemon and serrano chile-infused agave…The pop up kitchen is run by Roy Choi, so it’s like having a Kogi BBQ truck behind the bar.”
